Trekkies and Shakespeareans Alike

A few nights ago we watched our last Shakespeare performance in England. We saw "Hamlet" at the Courtyard Theatre in Stratford.  This particular performance has been all the rave while we've been in England, because Captain Picard plays Claudius. Yes, I was at a play that starred Patrick Stewart! It was amazing! However, the actor who played Hamlet stole the show, and rightly so.  Some of you may know the actor who plays Hamlet from "Doctor Who" and the Harry Potter movies, David Tennant. The company that puts on all the performances in Stratford is the Royal Shakespeare Company.  This company dates back to the time that the first theatre was built in Stratford, and is one of the world's most famous acting companies. Many British actors who made their way into TV and film began their career with the RSC. Take Patrick Stewart, for example. The whole cast in Hamlet was amazing, and it was a great end to all the performances we saw here.
David Tennant, who played Hamlet, is lying on the floor. Patrick Stewart is in the background sitting on his throne.
